My name is Mark Wheeler and I have good eyes. This site presents my design blog and portfolio as well as providing a home for various other projects. Based in London, I produce graphic design across a large variety of mediums and also like to post interesting work of others that I find.
We've updated Feed Your Obsession again for autumn, this time featuring on-location photos of some interesting enthousiasts telling the story of their first pair of Nikes.
I might be a little partial to things from Finland at the moment as I'm off to Helsinki next weekend. Riitta Ikonen is Finnish and has some interesting ideas that seem to almost all be centred around her wittily crafted costumes - photographed both in Finland and elsewhere. I'm a particular fan of the Human Nylon series of photos.
We've given Feed Your Obsession a summer make-over with a new season of Nike Heritage trainers and some new interviews with three European collectors.
This is a nice combination of great photos and a simple website that shows real attention to detail. Check out Alex Prager's pristine photos and neat website.
Recently I've been doing more and more DJing under the name Mark Eats. Now I've just put live a microsite for all Mark Eats bits and pieces as well as setting up a MySpace profile (expect other social web fluff soon).

Searchme is an insightful little evolution of web search. It's just getting started but it's already interesting as a way of browsing lots of results, even if not as quick for just getting the URL of a site you already know.
Out now is another integrated Nitro / Mook campaign for Foot Locker, this time promoting the release of a new shoe from Puma and Ducati. Above you can see the main print image (used both in and out of store) featuring illustrations by Chuck Anderson and a lot of in-house retouching.

The campaign was then taken further by others here at Mook who produced both radio and online advertising.

The Janfamily's Plans for Other Days is one of my favourite art/design books. It looks like it's pretty popular with the guys behind a new site for Adidas & Diesel too – the concept being almost identical.
Of course this isn't a direct rip-off, it's simply a great idea taken from the art world and applied as advertising. It's still hard not to feel a tiny bit cheated though, however well it's executed. Which is a shame really because I know I'd love this project if I wasn't aware of the Janfamily's work.
