Places Series

The Places Series is a collection of audio-visual pieces performed as musical alter-ego Mark Eats. Each performance recalls a real-world place in dreamlike form, exploring what happens when a soundtrack controls the world as much as the world influences its soundtrack.

Both visuals and music were created in parallel, the imagery forming part of the composition process. All effects are in‑camera and controlled live.

Custom software was built using openFrameworks that operates much like a game engine. This is influenced by MIDI data from hardware synths and controllers.
